Arrive at Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR), meet your transfer representative and travel to your hotel. Rest after the journey and review the onward safari arrangements. No park activity is scheduled for arrival day. Confirm luggage arrangements for the smaller aircraft before leaving for the first safari base.
Transfer to the airport for a pre-arranged flight to the airstrip serving your Nyerere accommodation. Meet the safari vehicle and continue to camp, with wildlife viewing if the arrival time allows. Your first afternoon activity will be set around the flight timetable rather than promised as a full game drive.
Explore Nyerere with guided game drives through varied woodland and floodplain habitats. Where the selected camp, water conditions and operating permissions allow, a boat outing can replace part of the driving programme if included in the quotation. Keep time for quiet wildlife observation and return to camp before the evening.
Transfer to the airstrip for the pre-booked connection to Ruaha. The route may involve a stop or a charter rather than a nonstop scheduled flight. Meet the Ruaha team on arrival and settle into camp; any afternoon drive depends on arrival time. Treat this as a transfer day.
Spend a full day exploring Ruaha with your guide. Follow accessible tracks through varied habitats, pausing to watch animals and birdlife rather than covering a fixed checklist. Choose a picnic day or split drives according to camp location and conditions. Wildlife movements vary and no particular species is guaranteed.
If the flight time permits, enjoy a short morning activity before transferring to the airstrip. Fly back to Dar es Salaam and continue to your hotel. This overnight buffer is part of the plan and avoids relying on a tight connection between a bush flight and an international departure.
Have breakfast and transfer to Julius Nyerere International Airport at the agreed time for your departure. If your flight leaves later, arrange hotel checkout and any optional city time in advance. The safari ends at DAR; onward beach stays can be quoted separately.
