Meet your transfer at DAR and continue to the hotel. Rest after your international journey and check the safari briefing details. Your island stay comes later in the trip, so keep safari luggage practical and confirm the allowance for the flight to Zanzibar before departure.
Leave Dar es Salaam and travel to your Nyerere safari base. Allow for road conditions and the location of the selected camp. An activity on arrival depends on timing and is not a guaranteed full game drive. Settle in and enjoy your first evening near the park.
Explore with a guided game drive and time to observe Nyerere’s varied habitats. A boat outing may be included as an alternative activity if confirmed with the camp and suitable water conditions. Your guide balances activities with rest and the travel programme ahead; sightings remain unpredictable.
Depart early for the road connection to Mikumi. This is a long transfer whose route must be checked for seasonal accessibility before booking. If conditions require an added transit night, the itinerary needs adjustment before confirmation. Do not count on a park activity after arrival; the evening is for rest.
Take a morning game drive in Mikumi before travelling to the Udzungwa area. Pause for lunch and enjoy the change in scenery as you approach the mountain foothills. Settle into your lodge and discuss the next day’s walking route with the guide, including any shorter option needed by the group.
Explore a forest trail with an authorised local guide. The proposed Sanje outing depends on weather, trail access and your fitness; agree the appropriate route before starting. Return to the lodge after the walk and rest during the afternoon. This is a walking experience rather than a vehicle-based game drive.
Drive towards Ruaha through the Iringa area, with breaks during the substantial road journey. Arrive at your chosen lodge or camp and settle in for two nights. The day is reserved for travel, so the main Ruaha wildlife experience is planned for tomorrow.
Explore Ruaha with a full safari day shaped around local conditions and the camp’s location. Spend time on game drives, stop to watch wildlife behaviour and enjoy the landscape between sightings. Return to camp in the evening and prepare for the next day’s transfer to Zanzibar.
Transfer to the Ruaha airstrip for your pre-arranged flight connection to Zanzibar, which may route through Dar es Salaam. Meet the island transfer team and travel to your beach accommodation. This is a travel day rather than a full beach day; the exact connection and luggage allowance will be confirmed before booking.
Enjoy a full day at your own pace after the safari. Relax at the hotel or walk along permitted beach areas, taking local tides and conditions into account. Optional water-based activities can be arranged with an appropriate provider at extra cost. No excursion is included automatically in this leisure day.
Choose another relaxed day or request a separately quoted guided visit to Stone Town or a spice farm. Travel time depends on the location of your beach hotel, so agree the excursion before setting out. Respect local dress expectations when visiting town and communities, and ask before photographing people.
Leave the day open for rest, a favourite beach spot or a pre-arranged optional activity. Swimming conditions vary with tides, weather and the selected coast; follow local advice. Confirm tomorrow’s airport transfer with the team and enjoy the final night of your Tanzania journey.
Transfer from the beach hotel to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) for your onward flight. Allow appropriate time for the road journey and check-in. If your international ticket departs from Dar es Salaam, the connecting flight and any extra overnight stay must be arranged separately in advance.
